Remember to Dance on BBC Health Check!

We were delighted recently to have a visit from the BBC World News Health Check programme to one of our Remember to Dance sessions for people with Dementia and their carers at Oxford House.

Remember to Dance is an exciting and inspiring two year research program made possible by Headley Trust, in partnership with the Sidney de Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health Canterbury Christchurch University, East London NHS Foundation Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society Tower Hamlets. The research, headed by Trish Vella-Burrows of Sidney de Haan, is investigating the impact that dance has on the health and well-being of people living with Dementia.

The sessions are light hearted and fun, providing gentle exercise in a creative and social environment. Together, everyone is encouraged to join in, challenge themselves and enjoy the music and the movement.

We are also thrilled to announce that the program will be extended for a further three years thanks to the Henry Smith Charity, allowing us to continue to bring movement and laughter to those living with Dementia and their carers.
