The group is free and open to men and women with or without previous dance experience. Senior Dancers perform at 'Through the Arch of the Imagination'
Under the leadership of Fergus Early, the Artistic Director of Green Candle Dance Company, the Green Candle Senior Dancers have been active for four years, taking part in a diverse range of events and opportunities around the London boroughs. Green Candle's aim for the Senior Dancers is to provide the opportunity for older people in the local area to take part in regular exercise, enjoy gentle physical activity and develop their creativity! Exercises are designed to be fun and enjoyable with emphasis on maintaining and improving flexibility, balance, strength and motor skills. Each dance session includes a gentle body warm-up, followed by a more rigorous dance exercise, and concludes with a dance sequence. Different dance styles and genres of music are used to provide variety and encourage enthusiasm.
