Green Candle was commissioned by the 1998 Islington International Festival to create a piece to be performed around St Mary's Church on Islington's Upper Street.

Based on Turkish folk tales, Tales of a Bald-Headed Boy, with a cast of professional dancers and musicians and 30 non-professionals, proved a great success, drawing people in from the high street.
